Retro Lamp Shades - Funky Pendant Lamps Designed in Denmark

The term "retro" derives from the Latin word retro, meaning "backwards" or "in past times" and refers to a nostalgic view towards the past.

Retro style design can be any kind of interior design that turns to the past decades for inspiration, but usually "retro" is used in connection with design styles that take their cue from the 1960s and 1970s. An important aspect of a retro interior is lighting. The popular lamp shade design in 1960s and 1970s was inspired by op-art or optical art (a genre of pop-art) which makes use of optical illusions.

The trend started in Denmark where a few designers created the new style of iconic light shades. Verner Pantone designed his Moon Lamp in 1960. The light consists of a large numbers of ring-shaped, white discs which are suspended around the centrally located bulb.

The Konkylie light was designed by Louis Weisdorf for the Tivoli Garden in Copenhagen in 1963. It was partly inspired at a technical level by Verner Panton's Moon lamp.

Louis Weisdorf created the design for his next pendant light called Turbo in 1965. Consisting of 12 uniform aluminium lamellae spiral-twisted to form a flower-like sphere, the Turbo was partly inspired
by Japanese rice-paper lanterns. In contrast to Konkylie the lamellae were positioned vertically, reducing the accumulation of dust. Other designer famous for his futuristic looking modern pendant lamps is Simon Karkov. His lamps - NORM 03, NORM 06 and particularly the NORM 69 are classical examples of best Danish design. NORM 69 an award-winning lamp consisting of 69 identical white plastic parts though designed in 1969 is still sold widely all over the world. It was produced in a few sizes and it is very suitable for minimalistic modern interiors. NORM 69 is a real favourite with contemporary interior designers.

Retro style, particularly furniture and lighting, is in fashion again. Either original vintage items or products inspired by 1960s and 1970s design are very popular. However, decorating in retro style does not mean the recreation of an outdated interior from the time period. It takes the style from the time but creates a new quality - a modern, contemporary look.

Many younger designers are fascinated by items from 60s and 70s. There are some interesting modern retro lamp shades, designed in the spirit of best Danish tradition, made usually of polypropylene plastic resulting in retro lamp shades with a refreshing modern touch.

Using retro lamp shades and vintage furniture is a great way to style your home.

If done properly, it makes it look contemporary and funky. Good examples of modern retro lighting you can find on [].

Seven Main Changes of the iPhone 7

Compared with the previous Apple products, the new iPhone 7 brings seven main changes, including jet black color, headphone jack, water-resistant, home button, dual cameras, new CPU and longer battery endurance.

Firstly, the most obvious feature of this new iPhone 7 is the jet black body color. A pristine, mirror-like surface and a high gloss finish make it look eye-catching and remarkable. Through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing processor, its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products. However, it will scratch more easily and the finish is particularly prone to fingerprints as well.

Secondly, the lightning port has been substituted for the original headphone jack. Apple announces that this design has two advantages: freeing up space and a better connector for audio. On my opinion, Apple' s real purpose is to promote its new wireless earphones Airpods.

Thirdly, it features the water-resistant. The entirely re-engineered enclosure makes the new iPhone has the waterproof function as well as the protections of spills, splashes and dust.

Fourthly, the mechanical home button has been replaced with a static version force sensitive one. With Apple' s Taptic Engine to click back at users, this new design brings a pretty good user experience.

Fifthly, upgraded dual cameras offer the nice shooting experience. It comes with a 7 megapixels front camera with automatic image stabilization for the better selfie and a 12 megapixels rear camera. Most importantly, it has an improved sensor and a lens that opens up to f1.8 (previously, it was f2.2). That means much better night shots.

The sixth change of this new product is the CPU configuration. The new iPhone is powered by a new outstanding A10 Fusion SoC. Compared with the previous chip A9, this new one runs 40% faster. Apple says it is the most powerful chip that has ever been in a smartphone.

Lastly, it provides longer battery endurance than the previous Apple products. In other words, this new one' s battery is the most durable of all Apple products. Compared with its previous product iPhone 6s, it will last at least 2 more hours during daily usage.

Sincerely say, I like the new changes of the water-resistant function, powerful CPU configuration and longer battery endurance. On the contrary, I think it will trouble me that it has the only port for charging and using as a headphone jack. That means I cannot listen to songs while charging.

If you wanna purchase Smartphones, you can choose Banggood website.
